The New Hampshire Insurance Department contracted with Compass Health Analytics to study reimbursement rates among commercial insurers for claims with a diagnosis of substance use disorder (SUD). Data from the New Hampshire Comprehensive Health Care Information System (NH CHIS) was considered. Compass Health Analytics found that the average allowed amount for New Hampshire payer's was below the commercial market average rate and the Medicare rate. Reimbursement rates vary among providers who bill for SUD services.
